“Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget your people and your father’s house. Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.”
Psalm 45:10-11 NIV
Recently I had a dream. I was in a palace with a King and He was bestowing around my neck, a beautiful emerald necklace- just like the one pictured. As He went to do it though, He had to take off this gold necklace I already had on. As He did that I objected and said that it was too valuable to replace. That this gold necklace was better than the emerald one. But He held it up to the light and showed me that it was fake. As it started to swirl around, I noticed that it just looked like a tin piece of metal with a gold coating.
So I let Him place the Emerald necklace on, (signifying royalty, I later found out), as I stood and saw it from an external view.
This is how God speaks to me about my identity. I am royal. What He has for me, although it may not look like it’s as good as it was, is actually far greater than I ever had before. What I have is my identity in Him.
He is my King.
He is enthralled by my beauty.
He is my Lord.
These words used to sit in the fortress of my mind but never really nestled into my soul. But the journey of giving Jesus my broken heart, created a conduit between my head and my heart. As I opened up my heart to Him, I began to discover new truths about me. Every day is a journey of self-discovery and self-awareness.
I am His daughter. The daughter of the Best Father ever. Heir to His throne. Highly favoured and anointed to do great works.
Giving Jesus your heart, whether or not your even willing to admit that it is broken, changes your neuro pathways. Your spirit starts to resonate with His and His words become more powerful than your family’s, your failures and your fatigue.
Lord Jesus, help me to see me as you see me. I give you my heart, fully trusting that You will take care of it as you take care of me. Allow me to be open to your call. Give me the eyes to see what you want me to see as my spirit is in tune with yours. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
