“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”
Psalm 46:5 NIV
Fear. It’s the complete opposite of love. It whispers words like “you’re never going to make it.”
“You’re going to get hurt.”
“You’re going to look like a fool.”
“You don’t even know what you’re doing.”
“You can’t handle it.”
Fear of failure can cripple you into thinking that your own limitations will keep you from reaching your goals. Maybe the root of this fear is because of past experiences- those very experiences that broke your heart.
When you give Jesus that piece of your broken heart, these are the words He whispers to you in love.
“Be strong and courageous!”
“I am with you, you can do this!”
“Nothing is impossible with me!”
“You’re not going to fall- Go!”
Remembering that God is within you, is key to overcoming the fear of failure. When He is within you, you have greater capacity to do what He has called you to do- whether that be just for today, for this week or for this year. When you end, that’s where He begins to do things through you that you can’t do in your own strength.
Whenever a challenge calls you to rise up into new levels of strength, authority or integrity, don’t dismiss the challenge as too hard. Decide that this challenge will shape you into the person you need to be in order to face the next season of life. Because it will.
Join in the army of people who face the battle of fear with the armour of faith. Believing in what you’re about to do in faith, pleases God.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
When you do step out and then you don’t fall, it will allow you to overcome the lies of those who said you can’t. You can. And the confidence that will bring will, in and of itself, be a reward. So go ahead and do it!
I give you all my past experiences, my past hurts and my past failures and I thank you that you are doing a new thing. I thank you that what you’re calling me to step out to do, you will equip me for. Thank you that I am a new creation in Christ Jesus and that who I am today, can walk confidently knowing that you are within me and I won’t fall. Thank you for your strength and the courage you deposit in me. In Jesus name, Amen.
